Samoëns, a village of stone and snow

Its Gros Tilleul is 580 years old, and its dressed-stone houses have earned it a listing as a historic monument. Its lanes can be explored on foot, or even by horse-drawn carriage with the first snowflakes.

Shops, craftspeople, local restaurants and shuttles: the village has everything a resort has, without the bustle of overly lively nights.

The Grand Massif ski area

Together with Flaine, Les Carroz, Morillon and Sixt, Samoëns forms one of the largest ski areas in the French Alps, facing the Mont Blanc massif. The first ski tow there dates from 1939.

148 slopes for all levels, from first-timers to seasoned skiers, with offers designed for family skiing and plentiful snow.

Water, air and earth

Canoe-rafting, water skiing, caving or disc golf: Samoëns has plenty to keep thrill-seekers busy. For gentler mountain pursuits, the area can be explored by hiking, Nordic walking, trail running or electric mountain bike.

With children, the lifts lead to easy walks among wildlife and grand panoramas.
